Remember that Border's mailing list I talked about?
Well, maybe times are difficult in bookseller's land, because Border's have extended/sent a new coupon...same as the one below - 35% off one full fiction priced book - expiry date of 27th Jan.
(Though can't remember if the previous one was fiction only...)

If you have, you should have received via email a link to a coupon that allows you 35% off a full priced book.
"Duplicate copies of the same coupon cannot be used in one transaction."
Therefore if you want to use your coupon more than once, copy it and present your teller with one book and one copy of your coupon. When that transaction is complete, present your teller with your next book and another copy of your coupon.
I have done this in the Border's Australia pre-Christmas coupon send-out and it is fine to do, according to their staff. So make the most of it!

Sale at Eco Mums and Bubs - nappies and boosters
One-size pocket nappy sale, 50% off RRP = $15.50 for a one-size pocket nappy. The boosters are on sale too.
As far as I can make out these are Cheeky Butts nappies, of which I have quite a few of the sized pocket nappies with sewn in booster. Which I LOVE and are the mainstay of my stash.
Huggalugs Leg Huggers are also on sale on this site for 27% off, making them $12 a pair.
One-size Coolababy pocket nappies on a great sale too, $8, a saving of 47%. I've heard good things about these but don't have any experience with them myself.
And check out the Nappy Making Supplies page, for various deals. If you can overlook the spelling mistakes (please excuse me, I've always been a speller so mistakes stand out like dogs balls to me :), you might find something you need here.

Today being my one kid free day, I raced out to the mall to do a wee spot of clothes shopping unencumbered by my usual hangers on.
I ended up in Giordano ( because it's cheap and I'm cheap haha!) and after I made my purchase I was told they have a members discount of 10%. All you do is give them your mobile number which they enter in the computer, then when you shop there, tell them you're a member and quote your mobile number and get the discount. Family and friends can also use it, as long as they know your mobile number.
Never paying full price = good thing.

Another email that popped up in my inbox a couple of days ago is from Borders, the book store chain. Within the email is a link to a 30% off coupon, which can be used on one full priced book and is valid for 3 days. 30% off is not too bad a deal, it's more the 1/4 of the price, right?
To receive these and other email offers from Borders, you need to be signed up to receive the Shortlist Email Newsletter. I signed up in store a while ago, and I sometimes hear the Border's staff (if I am there) asking a customer at the desk if they want to sign up, so presumably all staff will know what you're on about if you ask them about the email shortlist newsletter. You can also sign up online through their website.
Ok. I've also received offers in the past for a discount on buying multiple items (2 or 3), sometimes pertaining to dvds or cds, and some other decent offers that escape me right now.
The best offer I've used was last Christmas, when there was a coupon for 25 or 30% off a full priced book (I forget which) and reading the small print on the coupon there was no limit on how many per customer, just one book per coupon. So I printed off a few copies of the coupon and took them up to the desk to ask if I could use copies. I was told as there was no limit printed on the coupon, yes I could use as many copies as I wanted, just in separate transactions. Yay! That worked well for a book exchange kids Christmas party, books for my kids Christmas stockings and books for posting to a couple of my older relatives.
Now, they may have corrected that no limit per customer coupon......or not, I haven't needed to take them up on a similar offer yet. Even if it is one per customer, to me that's a decent saving and worth looking down my "people I need to buy gifts for in the near future" list.

This is worth signing up to, in your efforts to become thrifty and frugal....although there are other ways of getting hold of books cheaper especially if they're second hand, but it is nice to be able to give the odd new one when you want to.

Aussies, do you know Amcal chemists have a rewards card?
You can accrue points when you purchase non-prescription items at Amcal, then you can use the points as money to purchase things in-store. The points don't expire, they add up quickly and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the scheme. A few times a year they have special offers, and in the mail you'll receive coupons that you can use on specific items that will get you extra points. One of the coupons is double points if you spend over $20 or over $50 in one transaction.
In general, I'm a bit leary about rewards programs, you often need to put in so much for very little return, but this one is worth it.
